Eui Kyung Kim, Ph.D.

Dr. Eui Kyung Kim is an assistant professor in the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Riverside. She has been involved in research that highlights the importance of being proactive as well as reactive in child mental health care. Her research interests focus on universal mental health screening, early identification, and prevention services for children's emotional and behavioral health. Particularly, she is interested in the use of a dual-factor approach to promote strengths that may serve as protective factors, as well as treating distress. Dr. Kim is currently conducting grant-funded research on a mentorship program (Check, Connect, & Respect) where undergraduate mentors are trained and supervised to provide one-on-one mentorship to struggling youth. She also conducts research internationally, examining social-emotional development of Korean children and adolescents. In addition, Dr. Kim is interested in diversity training and culturally sensitive/competent treatment.

Kevin Han is a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of California, Riverside. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State Long Beach and has worked with the special needs populations extensively. He has a passion for supporting underserved communities in the public education school system. His research interests include providing alternative interventions for English Language Learners in special education and implementing universal screening procedures in schools. Kevin serves as Treasurer for the UCR chapter of the Student Affiliates of School Psychology (SASP). Outside of school, Kevin enjoys hiking, music, volunteering, tacos, sports, serving at church, and waiting for Christmas.

KeAysia Jackson, B.S., M.A.

KeAysia Jackson is a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of California, Riverside. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in English from Howard University and a Master of Arts in Education (School Psychology) from the University of California, Riverside. She has a passion for advocating for marginalized students who are impacted by systemic issues in the education system, from K-12 through higher education. Her research interests include the Recruitment and Retention of Black School Psychology Students, the Disproportionality of Black Students in Special Education, and School-Based Mental Health Supports. KeAysia serves as the President for the UCR chapter of the Student Affiliates of School Psychology (SASP). Outside of school, KeAysia enjoys writing, doing any sort of arts and crafts, and getting some sunshine outdoors.

Brittany Cummings-Barkley, B.A.

Brittany Cummings-Barkley is a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of California, Riverside. She has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Delaware State University. She is passionate about advocating for improved access to education and advancing education leadership. Brittany's research looks at the preparedness of school psychologists and special education teachers to incorporate sociocultural factors, specifically socioeconomic (SES), into the middle-to-high school transition planning for students with disabilities. Brittany serves on the School Psychology Review Student Editorial Board and also works as a Graduate Student Assistant for the Teacher Education Program at UCR. Outside of school, Brittany enjoys doing ceramics, cooking, and volunteering.

Vivian Nguyen, B.S.

Vivian Nguyen is a first-year doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of California, Riverside. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minors in Education and Biology from the University of California, Irvine. She is passionate about supporting underrepresented and underserved populations in the public school system and aims to build protective factors for these students based on their diverse backgrounds and experiences. Her research interests include advancing culturally responsive social-emotional learning programs and expanding school connectedness to increase minority student belonging and engagement. Vivian serves as First-Year Representative for the UCR chapter of the Student Affiliates of School Psychology (SASP). In her free time, Vivian enjoys swimming, cooking, reading, listening to music, and being in nature.
