Check, Connect, & Respect (CCR)
Mentoring Program at Local Middle and High Schools
Funding: 2018-2019 Junior Faculty Development Award; 2019-2021 Early Career Research Award from Society for the Study of School Psychology (SSSP)
CCR matches middle and high school students with a one-on-one undergraduate mentor who helps them work towards their educational goals through identifying their needs, monitoring their progress, and connecting them with sources of school and community support. CCR also monitors positive psychology mechanisms to promote resilience among students rather than solely addressing risk.
